PTTM truck downloads

man i'm havin one heck of a time with these truck down loads i can down load trucks,place them in the proper files(make/truck)but they dont show up in the game.plz tell what im doin wrong.same goes for other mods as well.and when i down load skins what file do i put them in in my PTTM backup file.HELP ME PLEASE ANYONE
