NOTICE! You will need to do this process with the base.scs, and to the patch's scs file, if you download one, in order for it to enable files to you for editing the game, and for the game to continue running properly. Follow in complete order, or failure and loss of game workings is eminate. This process was tested successful on over 40 computers, aswell as 2 computers from people who helped develope the game, and they themselves went on to pass out the link to it, although it never made it up on the trouble shooting page, big deal, like I care, as long as it works.
If you want to know how to use others mods, and skins ingame, you need to understand this fully, and completely.
-------Outlaw Kustoms File Structure Help-------------------
Now, the first step is to get you the winrar file archiver, if you don't think you'll need it, or you think you don't want it, guess again. It can extract and archive any zip out there, plus any zip as far back as pentium two, and until another comes out, this is all you'll need to handle any zip.

Now, please make sure you print this out for future reference, it will allow you to follow any tutorial that anyone types out with the ol' c:/programs/yadda/yadda/yadda. This will be universal in helping you understand it all, and if it doesn't, I really don't know what to tell you. Let's get going.
-----------------------------------------------------------
We start at your desktop. Look for a computer shaped icon, named "My Computer" and click on it.
Here we are in your main computer directory, here you can find all drives in your computer, and also, your computer's Document folder, were :AA keeps your editing folder after installing the game, but I'll get to that. click the drive your game is installed on, stock file installation, will be on the c:/ drive, unless you customized the path when you installed the game like me, my game is on my d:/ drive, but it's all the same really.
After you clicked your dive of chice, you'll see an assortment of files, just look for the one that reads programs, and click it.
Now find your games main folder named "18-Wheels of Steel:AA, and click it.
The only folder you need to worry about right now, is the "aa" folder, next I'll show you what to do with the base.scs, if you listen to me earlier, and do now have winrar.
Now find your base.scs, and left click it, if you have installed winrar, it will open it automatically.
Now that we are looking at the base.scs's contents in winrar, look at the top left, and select extract.
Now, after you selected the extract botton, we should all look like this, with the drag-bar and all, this is where you will path the base.scs, to copy it's contents, in your Documents folder.
Select threw the drag-bar accordingly, select computer/my documents/18 wheels of steel:AA, and hit extract. This will give you all the nessessary files you'll need to edit your game, add downloaded materials, so forth.
Warning! I have to stress, that before going any anywhere from here, if you've downloaded a patch for the game, you'll need to do the same thing with the patch's scs file, as you did with the game's. It should be in the same folder. If you haven't downloaded a patch yet, might I add, that the default game out of box, has alot of bugs, and problums do to the development team who designed the game, were rushed to get the game to market, thus, they made patches later to currect the problums. I advise you if you don't have the 1.10 build of patch for the game, get it now, here www.trucksimskins.com/35701.html this will save you alot of hair pulling and screaming later. You should so far have done this in order.
*1. Extracted the "Base.scs" to your "My Documents" folder.
*2. Extracted the "Patch's.scs" in the same place over writing the last set of files.
*3. Restart your computer! PLEASE!
Now you may continue....................
Now, refer back to the first two steps, and get into your "My Documents" folder.
Now you should be in your "My Documents" folder, now select your games edit folder, as seen above.
Here are the folders you want if you want to edit the game, add downloads, or to just gauck and stare, whatever, here you are.
All the real eye candy will be in here, the "makes" folder, in here is where the game keeps tractors, trailers, and all that come with them.
Choose folder "trailer" or folder "truck" depending on what you are doing.
Select your truck of intrest, once inside a given truck's folder, they are all structured the same.
Choose the "acc" folder, this is where each trucks content is stored, trailers are set up the same way aswell.
This is the main file directory for a truck, you'll see folders such as "interior", "paint", engine", transmission", so on. this is where downloads are to be pointed, as far as trucks, paint jobs, and related material.
-----------------------------------------------------------
This concludes Outlaw Kustoms File Structure help. Please read carefully, and follow step by step if you want to start easily understand this game, and how to work it.
I can not help conflictions with adding downloads to the game, and something happends like pink paint jobs, not showing up at all, or all that comes with using outside sources to edit your game, that is to be done at your own risk, and please follow all creators instructions for adding downloads, if problums arise, please refer to the creator.
I will post all related links for other tutorials for this game, and please follow all instrutions, I, nor does any editor make a tutorial, much less like this, for people to skim threw it, or skip parts, only to lash out at the editor, expecting someone to hold their hand threw the process, this will get you nothing. They were made for a reason, so please read, and have patience, this is not an over-night process for most, and takes time to learn, and master, so please take your time as well.
